Bearfoot's Stacked Differentials

Monster Truck Tech is a series about idiosyncrasies of early monster trucks.

First up is one of Fred Schafer’s way of reducing drive shaft angle. Bearfoot had another differential integrated on top of the military axle. Other trucks, like Alan Tura’s Goliath had similar constructions, but as far as I know Schafer was first to build stacked diffs. Another advantage of multiple differentials were gear reduction, making truck quicker.
